CHARLOTTETOWN – Earlier this month the Tourism Industry Association of P.E.I. (TIAPEI) presented its 33rd Annual Tourism Conference and Awards Gala.

Minister for Tourism and Culture Robert Henderson honoured Confederation Centre of the Arts with the Premier’s Award at the recent TIAPEI Awards gala. Accepting on behalf of the centre was CEO Jessie Inman.
Tourism and Culture Minister Robert Henderson presented Confederation Centre with the Premier's Award in recognition of "50 years of outstanding commitment and significant contribution to the tourism industry on Prince Edward Island."
"I am so honoured to accept this award on behalf of the entire team at Confederation Centre of the Arts," said CEO Jessie Inman. "I must also acknowledge the contribution of all of those who have, over 50 years, ensured that Confederation Centre has continued to thrive."
"For half a century, Confederation Centre of the Arts has stood as a pillar of the arts community on Prince Edward Island and one of the most important tourist attractions in the province," said Henderson.
"It's only fitting that the award would be presented ahead of the centre's planned 50th anniversary celebrations."
Wade Lynch served as master of ceremonies for the evening where a total of 10 awards were handed out. TIAPEI president, Kevin Mouflier, also presented a token of appreciation to Lynch, thanking him for his more than 20 years of dedication, support, and hard work for the tourism industry of P.E.I. Lynch, the associate artistic director at the centre, is leaving the province as his partner has accepted a position in Sherbrooke, Que.
