P.E.I. residents came out in big numbers to ensure there are enough infant sleepers for newborns at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Charlottetown. The hospital does not have a budget for purchasing sleepers, but thanks to the donations, they recently received over 200 pairs of sleepers.

"This proves, once again, how generous and caring our community is," said Alicia Packwood, community co-ordinator. "This will certainly put some smiles on young moms' faces, and it will ensure that the newborns are happy and comfortable too."

This campaign was such a success that is now looking at making sleeper donations to the QEH more than once a year.

New moms are also encouraged to consider donating their own sleepers to the QEH when they are finished using them.
