SUMMERSIDE - Youth leaders of Generation XX will be going to Ottawa late in March to attend the national youth conference “Unite and Ignite.” This will be the second year that the youth members of the Summerside club have attended this conference.

Youth leaders of Generation XX going to Ottawa in March to attend the National Youth Conference are (back, from left) Shawn Ramsay, Blake Blanchard, Logan Maddix, Courtney Houde, Jamie Doyle, Victoria Keen, Robbie Bursey and Tyler Williams, (front) along with Aaron Jackson and Jennie Martin.

Themes of the conference include addressing bullying, cyber bullying, and youth suicide. This event promises to be a great opportunity for the youths to gather information on how other Canadian communities have been dealing with these issues. They will also be given the opportunity to talk with their peers from across the country and be able to come home and share information on these topics.

The Generation XX members have been raising money for this trip by selling tickets and are asking local businesses and organizations to help out as well. Anyone wanting more information about the program, or anyone wishing to donate to the group, can call the club at 436-7699.
