ALBERTON -- The Alberton Public Library has a blank wall that library technician Kelly Gillis would love to have filled with young, local artists’ works.

Budding artists will get their chance to do that during March Break, as Gillis has lots of activities planned for the week of March 17. There will be activity time in the library from 1 to 4 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Friday during the school break.

Gillis said there is a craft table set up with all kinds of construction paper, markers, glue and scissors along with craft ideas, but budding artists are encouraged to come up with their own craft ideas.

Besides the craft activities, there is a wide range of board games, including checkers, battleship, and Pictionary, and card games.

There’s also an enormous basket of puppets and stories to act out, and a quiet corner into which to take a book for an hour or so.

Juice and cookies will be available throughout the afternoon activities, and library visitors of all hours will be able to take advantage of a giant book sale.
