Adventures in Reading column
By Mallory McKinney
The Summerside Rotary Library has hit the ground running this year and we are pleased to see so many new faces joining us for programs and events and putting our collection to good use.
The P.E.I. Public Library Service is happy to announce that we have teamed up with the Department of Fisheries and Oceans and have decided to provide assistance with creating online accounts for renewing licences for local shellfishers. The change to online accounts can be a barrier for those without computer or Internet access, so we would like to provide our computer and staff services to ensure that your profile is created and your licence is renewed on time.
In order to proceed with the process, we ask that patrons arrive with their email address (if at all possible) and their passcode (required), which should be received by mail and has an expiry date. In order to pay any licence fees while you are here, you should also bring your credit card or your bank card for the online banking option.
If there are any further questions on what is needed to successfully complete the process do not hesitate to call us at 436-7327 and we can ensure that you arrive with the necessary information to proceed.
If you do not have a membership you are invited to bring a piece of photo ID with your current address on it and sign up while you’re here. This procedure could be the beginning of a great relationship with the Summerside Rotary Library.
We are also excited about a current program being offered for parents and children aged 24 to 36 months. Each Thursday morning from 9:30 to 10:30, until March 6, we welcome you to join two speech pathologists to play, sing, read, and create. In order to register, or to find out additional details, contact Diana at 888-8162.
