A Young Adult Summit is being hosted in early May on Prince Edward Island. The objective is to afford young adults (in their 20s and 30s) a unique opportunity to dialogue about matters of faith and spirituality from a Catholic perspective.

Getting ready for the Young Adult Summit are Ryan Gallant and Sara Richard, members of the summit’s core planning team.

"There is a certain hunger among young adults," stated Sara Richard, a member of the summit's core planning team. "Young people, in the early stages of adulthood are often seeking spiritual roots and beliefs to give guidance and meaning to their lives."

Two guest speakers, Fr. John Cusick and Dr. Kate DeVries from the Archdiocese of Chicago, will facilitate the weekend sessions. They bring with them a compassion for young adults, and extensive experience in providing a welcoming and inclusive approach to dialoguing with young adults regarding faith and spirituality.

"Our hope is that this is a special gathering for young adults," commented planning team member, Ryan Gallant. "Our vision is to provide a special time and space, where young adults experience a genuine sense of coming together and an open forum to explore individual questions regarding faith and spirituality."

The Young Adult Summit is being convened at the North Winds Inn and Suites, Brackley Beach, on May 10-11. A core group of young adults from P.E.I. is helping to plan the event that is being sponsored by the Diocese of Charlottetown.
