Benefit concert for woman who suffered neck injury

SUMMERSIDE – Some popular Island musicians and bands will be presenting an evening of music on Sunday in support of a local resident who recently suffered a serious neck injury.

The Hann Family (from left) includes Owen, Brittany, Nick and Rita. There will be a benefit concert on Sunday, Jan. 12, at 8 p.m. at Centre Bell-Alliance in Summerside in aid of Rita Hann who is recovering from neck injuries sustained in a serious fall.

The benefit concert for Rita Hann will take place Jan. 12 at 8 p.m. at the Bell-Alliance Centre (the French school) in St. Eleanors. Hann is recovering from neck injuries she sustained in a fall last month. She had reconstructive surgery in Moncton to repair vertabrae in her neck and is resting at home while her neck heals.

The musical friends of Rita and her husband Owen have organized a musical evening in support of the Hann family. Entertainment will be provided by bands like Renegade, the West End Blues Band, Eddy Quinn and Old Habits along with piano man, Johnny Ross, and singer Kenny Pearl.

There will be a 50-50 draw and donations will be gratefully accepted at the door.
