Bible Facts column

Merry Christmas to all the readers of the Bible Facts column. The song "Christmastime" was written for our annual Christmas program at Summerside Fundamental Baptist Church.
The music was written by Joyce Hein, now residing in British Columbia.

The song was sung at this year's program by our friend, Pastor Chris Gallant of Open Bible Baptist Church that meets in Milton. See it on Youtube:

The seasons pause at Christmastime, the Earth brings forth its best.

It spreads its tablecloth of white and waits the honoured Guest.

O come, O come, Emmanuel, the carollers begin;

Let every heart prepare Him room, a room within the inn.

Excited children watch the snow fall softly on the ground.

The homes are decked for Christmastime; the joyful carols sound.

The family times of Christmas past come gently back to mind;

The Lord himself came to a home, beneath that star that shined.

The sweetest fragrance of the day ascends from hearts that give,

And celebrate a giving God, who gave that man could live.

The season rings with joy and peace and good will on the earth;

A witness of the Son of God, who came by virgin birth.

So many celebrate, and yet, their hearts remain untouched;

Their eyes are blind to heaven's Gift, the earthly gifts are clutched.

How sad to sing the carols while their meaning is ignored;

How sad to have the season pass, and still not know the Lord.

It's Christmastime, It's Christmastime, good tidings and good cheer:

Rejoice, good will, the angels sing, for God Himself is near.
