Move over Ella because Brooklyn is taking your place as the most popular name for girls born in P.E.I. this year.
But when it comes to boys, Liam is still the reigning champ for the third year in a row.
Every baby born in P.E.I. is registered with the province's vital statistics office, and as of Dec. 6 there were 1,255 of them this year with a total of 746 different names.
Unlike nationally, where the top girls' name was Olivia, there were nine Brooklyns in P.E.I. as opposed to the eight babies named Olivia.
Ellie and Madison rounded out the top four.
For the boys, Liam was tops in the province and in Canada.
There were 11 Liams born this year, followed by 10 Hunters with Connor and Jack filling the other top spots.
Liam has remained a popular choice, taking the top spot in P.E.I. in four of the last five years.
But while there has been a lot of variety in the top boys' name in P.E.I. over the long term, Emma stood alone or tied as the most popular for girls in 11 of the last 17 years.
