STANLEY BRIDGE — Christmas music will be wafting through the air in Stanley Bridge this Friday as Treble with Girls presents a “Musical Island Christmas” at the Women's Institute Hall in Stanley Bridge.

Treble with Girls, featuring Maxine MacLennan (left), Jolee Patkai, Sheila FitzPatrick and Norman Stewart will be presenting a “Musical Island Christmas” on Friday at 7:30 p.m. at the Women's Institute Hall in Stanley Bridge.

Show time is 7:30 p.m.

As one of P.E.I.'s newest groups, the band features the vocals of Maxine MacLennan, Jolee Patkai and Norman Stewart, along with Sheila FitzPatrick on fiddle. Their show boasts a combination of traditional and contemporary Christmas favourites, lively fiddle tunes and outstanding vocal harmonies.

The set list for the evening includes Alabama's “Thistlehair the Christmas Bear,” “The Christmas Truce,” a true story written about the truce declared at Christmas during the First World War in 1914, and a beautiful version of Leonard Cohen's “Hallelujah,” just to name a few.

Treble with Girls is also promising a special musical surprise for the show and is hoping that Stewart will be wearing his kilt for the occasion.

Admission is by cash only at the door, with a student rate available and preschoolers admitted for free. The Women's Institute Hall is located at 4897 Route No. 224 in Stanley Bridge.
