CHARLOTTETOWN — The P.E.I. Humane Society will be hosting their annual open house at its shelter located in Charlottetown this Sunday.

The event takes place from 1 to 4 p.m.

This year’s event will include a self-guided tour through the Shelter, with informational stops along the way, provided by Board members, staff and volunteers.

“As we launch our ‘No Place Like Home’ annual campaign, the open house is a great opportunity to get a behind-the-scenes look at the shelter and the programs and services the campaign helps to fund each year,” said the society’s Leanne Cail. “It is a great opportunity to support the society while crossing a few things off your Christmas shopping list.”

As part of the “No Place Like Home,” the society is launching its first-ever fundraising calendar, which marks its 40th anniversary.

“It’s full of wonderful photos and memories from our archives,” said society executive director Kelly Mullaly. “Each calendar is just $20 and will be available for sale at the Open House and in various locations we’ll be listing on our website.”

Admission to the open house is free, but guests are encouraged to bring along donations of new or gently used pet toys or treats.
