Adventures in Reading column

By Rebecca Boulter
The Summerside Rotary Library has everything you need to get in the holiday spirit this year.

Crafters will enjoy the books filled with seasonal inspiration. The library has numerous seasonal craft books for knitters, crocheters, sewers, quilters, and mixed media artists.

The family chef can look for inspiring new recipes or track down old favourites in the collection of Christmas cookbooks.

Amateur interior designers can get inspiration from the collection of seasonal home décor books and ebooks. Holiday music can be borrowed from the library or downloaded for free from Freegal on the library website

The library also has a great selection of holiday movies including everything from "Miracle on 34th Street" to "Elf."

Adults can enjoy reading holiday themed books and ebooks like "A Christmas Carol" by Charles Dickens, "Angels at the Table" by Debbie Macomber, or "All I Want for Christmas" by Nora Roberts. Get the kids excited about Santa’s visit by sharing some holiday picture books like "Pete the Cat Saves Christmas" by Eric Litwin, "Christmas Parade" by Sandra Boynton, or "Finding Christmas" by Robert Munsch.

The Summerside Rotary Library will be closing at 12 noon on Christmas Eve, Dec. 24. The library will remain closed Dec. 25 and 26 and will reopen normal hours on Dec. 27.

Ebooks and eaudiobooks are available from the library website 24 hours a day seven days a week.
