TRYON – Many Canadians experience noises or sounds in the ear not coming from an external source – this is a symptom of a condition known as tinnitus.
As many as 350,000 Canadians suffer from annoying tinnitus and about 150,000 Canadians experience a degree of tinnitus that significantly affects their quality of life.
Anyone wishing to learn more about this condition is invited to attend a special information session on tinnitus at the Canadian Hard of Hearing Association P.E.I. Chapter meeting. The meeting takes place in the North Tryon Presbyterian Church C.E. Centre on Tuesday, Oct. 29, at 9:30 a.m.
Krista Campbell, of Campbell Audiology in Charlottetown, will discuss common causes, coping strategies and techniques for living with tinnitus. She will also provide handouts and will allot time for a question and answer period.
