ANNUAL K.R.H.S. TERRY FOX RUN
Our 33rd Annual K.R.H.S. Terry Fox Run will be held on Sept. 27 with all funds raised going to cancer research. We thank Kevin Stewart and the student council for their tremendous efforts in organizing this event. Students and staff will walk on the Confederation Trail. Last year we raised over $1,648.

CANADIAN STUDENT LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE
The following students attended the Canadian Student Leadership Conference at Montague Regional High School with Trent Ranahan and Janice Broderick from Sept. 17 to 21: Bethany Lawless, Jarrett Mulligan, Quiana Woolaver, Ashton Muttart, Briar Roberts, Amanda O'Connor, Michael Lawless, Brady van der Velden, Katie Drummond, Brittany Dwyer and Bailee Payne. Any students interested in attending next year's C.S.L.C. in Kelowna, B.C. are asked to please see Mr. Ranahan.
ENCOUNTERS WITH CANADA
Bon voyage to Logan Robinson who will be representing K.R.H.S. at Encounters With Canada at the Terry Fox Canadian Youth Centre in Ottawa from Sept. 22 to 28. The theme of his week is Medicine and Health.
PEER HELPING TRAINING
On Sept. 25, K.R.H.S. Peer Helpers will be attending provincial peer helping training in Charlottetown with various other Island high schools. Many thanks to Peer Helping teacher Lesley McCarvill, for accompanying the students. K.R.H.S. Peer Helpers include: Logan Heffel, Carter Hutcheson, Amanda O’Connor, Emily Hagen, Michael Lawless, Michelle Jones, Ted Landry, Shandi Cameron and Destiny Powers.
K.R.H.S. SCHOOL COUNCIL
Our School Council meets the last Wednesday of every month. Next meeting is Sept. 25 at 6:30 p.m. All parents/guardians are welcome and encouraged to attend!
Many thanks to our educational assistant Brenda MacTavish for running our Breakfast Program from 8:15-8:30 a.m. every morning. This program is available to all students and includes toast with a variety of nut-free toppings and we are trying to include fresh fruit options as well. Parents are welcome to drop off donations to the school if you would like to contribute to the breakfast program. We are looking for donations of toppings such as jam or cheese spread. Juice boxes are always welcome (100 per cent apple or orange).
REMEMBRANCE DAY CONTEST
The Royal Canadian Legion Borden-Carleton Branch #10 is inviting students to enter the Annual Remembrance Day Poster and Literary Contest. Grade 9 falls under the intermediate category while Grade 10-12 is senior. Students may submit poetry, essays, black and white posters and colour posters. Deadline is Nov. 6. Entry forms are available in the K.R.H.S. Library.
