This group of local musicians is comprised of the Docherty family with father George on rhythm guitar, harmonica and fiddle; brothers Jason on bass guitar, Timothy on lead guitar, Kendall on lead vocals and storytelling; as well as P.E.I.’s own piano man Doug MacEwen on keyboard; and drummer Brian Knox.
With a mixture of traditional and modern Christmas music as well as some heartwarming holiday stories, Docherty & Friends have been packing concert halls across P.E.I. for these shows for over 16 years.
As a part of this year’s holiday concert series, Kendall Docherty & Friends will be joining forces with the congregation of Summerside Presbyterian Church to host an evening of Christmas music on Sunday, Dec. 2, from 2-4 p.m. The show will feature a great mixture of traditional Christmas music with songs like, “An Old Christmas Card,” “Silent Night,” “O’ Holy Night,” “When a Child Is Born” and many more holiday selections.
Tickets are on sale now and are available by calling Summerside Presbyterian Church office at 436-2557 Tuesday to Friday 9 a.m. to 12 noon or drop in to 130 Victoria Road, Summerside, or call Laura at 436-5154. Tickets cost $10 and will also be available at the door the night of the concert. This concert will serve as a major fundraiser for the Summerside Presbyterian Church and will help fund the many projects they provide in their community.
