Members of the group include Mike Pendergast, Leon Gallant, Remi Arsenault, and Brendan Peters.
Making their second appearance at Harmony House Theatre, 'the fellas' are promising a night of classic Maritime and East Coast songs, Irish clap-alongs, lively fiddle and accordion tunes, plus some Island standards with unique arrangements and three-part harmonies. They will also perform some amusing and touching original compositions like "Down by the Bay," "Island Favourites," "The 50/50 Song," "Back in the Maritimes," "The Faithful Fisherman," "The Old Belly Rubbers," and the general mayhem of songs like "The Lumberjack Man" and "The Grumbling Old Man and the Growling Old Woman."
The Avonlea Show Band performs regularly throughout the summer at Avonlea Village in Cavendish where they entertain visitors from all over the world in their 170-seat "Sea Shanty."
This show is a chance to experience the group in an intimate setting and see four Islanders "standing proudly and singing loudly" for their beloved home turf.
Tickets for the show are available online at www.peitickets.com, by calling the venue at 964-2255 or at the door, subject to availability.
