SUMMERSIDE - A stampede of red and white supporters chanted "Go Heather Go" as they flooded Three Oaks Senior High School gymnasium Wednesday morning.

"The energy and school spirit today is awesome," said principal Duncan McKillop as he welcomed Canada to Summerside, Olympian Heather Moyse's hometown.
"It is an honour and privilege to be sharing Heather's hometown with viewers from across this great country. This is her high school and this is where she thrived as a well-rounded student interested in all aspects of life."
High school students, dressed in Team Canada hockey jerseys and red wigs, handed out noisemakers to children attending the assembly from the Boys and Girls Club.
Face-painting booths lined the hallways and music blared upbeat music while a tribute video to Moyse played on a large screen hanging from the gym ceiling.
Nine Olympic torchbearers, including eight TOSH students, wore their official Olympic tracksuits as they climbed into a replica bobsled.
As CTV counted down live to air the gym erupted with students, teachers and staff chanting, "We believe! We believe!"
Producers of CTV said Summerside might possibly have been the loudest cheering section across the country.
The live coverage aired between 9:45 and 9:55 a.m. with extra footage filmed for broadcast later on in the day.
"She has given inspiration to our students," said McKillop. "From all of us here in Summerside, Heather and Kaillie, we believe!"
