Money stolen from Tim Hortons

A cup of Tim Hortons coffee is poured as the company's financial year end results are announced at an AGM in Toronto on Friday May 14 2010. As higher prices percolate at Canada's largest coffee and doughnut chain, Canadians should brace themselves for a costlier double double and other fast food, as world food prices continue to grow, experts say. Police said a man apparently staked out the drive-thru window, waited for the employee to leave, walked up, reached in and made off with the cash from the till.

“It’s still under investigation,” an RCMP detachment spokesperson said. “Essentially, somebody disguising their appearance, did a quick snatch-and-grab at the Tim Hortons in Borden-Carleton. It wasn’t a robbery with violence. We’ve classified it as a theft.”

Police said the theft took place around 2 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 27.

“We had a call and attended and determined that there was indeed a theft that happened,” the policeman said. “About $200 was taken. On the video footage, we got a description of the lone culprit. Our ident(ification) section attended as well as the police dog. There was a partial track that was left. It helped us with our investigation, which is still going on.”
