MISCOUCHE - A 16-year-old male is in hospital after a motor-vehicle/bicycle collision in Miscouche.
On Monday, Aug. 3, RCMP responded to a motor vehicle/bike collision at the intersection of Main Street and Lady Slipper Drive.
As a result of the collision, a teen from Miscouche was transported to the Prince County Hospital, where he remains, with non-life threatening injuries.
The investigation revealed the youth was attempting to cross the intersection against a red light and drove into the path of a Ford F-150 pickup truck. The youth was not wearing a helmet and the bike was not equipped with reflectors.
A member of the Miscouche Fire Department was immediately on scene and rendered first aid to the victim pending the arrival of other members of the fire department, RCMP and Island EMS.
The driver of the truck, a 62-year-old male from Lennox Island, was not injured as a result of the collision.
