Driver killed in accident in St. Teresa

ST. TERESA--One person is dead following a motor-vehicle accident in St. Teresa early this afternoon.

According to Kings District RCMP they responded to an accident involving an SUV and a grain truck at the intersection of Highways 5 and 22, at about 12:45 p.m.

The driver of the SUV was pronounced dead at the scene while the vehicle's passenger was transported to Kings County Medical Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the grain truck was uninjured.

The collision remains under investigation and a collision analyst is at the scene.

Both vehicles were seized for mechanical inspections.

Alcohol is not believed to be a factor and all vehicle occupants were wearing seatbelts.

The name of the deceased is being withheld at this time.
