McLean only undefeated rink at Canada Games curling trials

CHARLOTTETOWN - Jenny McLean of the Silver Fox Curling and Yacht Club in Summerside is the only undefeated rink after the opening two draws of the P.E.I. Selection Trials to determine the province's representatives at the 2001 Canada Winter Games.
McLean, third stone Meaghan MacDonald, second stone Rachael Gardiner and lead Lauren MacFadyen defeated Leah Deveau of Montague 8-7 and Amanda MacLean of the Maple Leaf Curling Club in O'Leary 5-4.
MacLean (1-1), Veronica Smith (1-1) and Deveau (0-2) round out the junior women's field.
On the junior men's side, Tyler Smith of Cornwall, the Maple Leaf's Matthew MacLean, Tony Nabuurs of Montague and Jeff Taylor of Cornwall are all 1-1 (won-lost).
Play in the double round-robin event continues today.
