Extend winning streak to five games

Rookie Jason Cameron scored two third-period goals to extend the Summerside Western Capitals' winning streak to five games in the Maritime Junior 'A' Hockey League on Sunday afternoon.
Cameron's goal at 16:33 snapped a 4-4 tie and he sealed the Caps' 6-4 win over the Pictou County Weeks Crushers with an empty-net goal at 19:18.
Saturday, the Capitals defeated the Campbellton Tigers 7-6 in overtime.
The Capitals improved to 23-16-1-1 (won-lost-overtime losses-shootout losses) and closed to within seven points of the second-place Miramichi Timberwolves (27-14-1-0) in the Roger Meek Division.

Before 642 fans at Credit Union Place, Will Johnston (1-1), Chad Earle (1-1), Ned O'Brien and Darcy Ashley also scored for the Capitals, who received points from 13 different players. Cole MacMillan, Jason Gallant, Lance Pridham, Nathan DesRoches, Neil Sherren, Parker Deighan, Spencer MacDonald and Trevor Carmichael contributed single assists.
Adam Chipman led the Crushers with two goals and an assist. Dan Joyce (1-1) and Michael Hynes netted the other goals.
The Capitals led 2-1 after the first period, but the Crushers scored two goals in the final seven minutes of the middle frame to overcome a 4-2 deficit and go into the second intermission tied 4-4.
Overall, the Capitals held a 37-32 shots-on-goal advantage. Paul Dorsey was the winning goaltender, and Justin Collier took the loss.
Referee Tim Hamel whistled five minors and two 10-minute misconducts against the Crushers. The Caps received five minors.
The game's three stars were:
1. Chad Earle (Caps), 2. Dan Joyce (Crushers), 3. Jason Cameron (Caps).

Before 338 fans at the Campbellton Memorial Civic Centre, Pridham set up Carmichael with the winning goal 55 seconds into overtime. It was Carmichael's second goal of the game.
Earle led the Capitals with three goals and two assists while MacMillan (1-2) and Johnston (1-1) also scored. Harrison McIver (3), Pridham (2), Ashley (2) and Deighan assisted.
Jason Smallman of O'Leary had two goals and an assist to lead the Tigers (6-32-3-2). Also scoring for Campbellton were Christopher Caissy (1-1), Zeth Zielinski (1-1), Stephen Groom and Grant West. Caissy's power-play goal with one second remaining in regulation time forced overtime.
The Caps held period leads of 3-1 and 5-3.
Referee Jeff Silliker called three minors against each team.
The game's three stars were:
1. Chad Earle (Caps), 2. Jason Smallman (Tigers), 3. Cole MacMillan (Caps).
The Capitals' next home game is against Campbellton on Sunday at 7 p.m. Fans are asked to note the start time.
