SUMMERSIDE -- Canada West is on its way to a rematch with the United States in the gold-medal game of the World Junior 'A' Hockey Challenge.

Canada West leads Canada East 7-1 after two periods of Friday night's semifinal game. The United States doubled Russia 6-3 in an afternoon semifinal.

Cody Kunyk leads Canada West with three goals and singles have come off the sticks of Connor Jones (2), Mathew Bodie, Cam Reid and Wes McLeod. Jones' second goal came during a two-man power play with 3.1 seconds left in the middle frame..

Jeff Vanderlugt has Canada East's lone goal.

Canada West is outshooting Canada East 32-21 through 40 minutes.
