SUMMERSIDE -- Sweden's penalty killing and Jonas Gunnarsson's goaltending was the story of the first period of Thursday afternoon's quarter-final game at the 2009 World Junior 'A' Hockey Challenge. Sweden killed off three United States' power plays, including a pair of 5-on-3 advantages for less than a minute, while Gunnarsson stopped 17 shots in the scoreless period. Sweden had six shots on United States goaltender Eric Mihalik and did not have any power plays.
