U.S., Sweden begin quarter-finals

SUMMERSIDE -

SUMMERSIDE -- The first quarter-final at the 2009 World Junior 'A" Hockey Challenge is underway.

Sweden and the United States are scoreless four minutes in. Thewinner will face Russia in Friday's first semifinal at 2 p.m.

The starting goaltenders are Eric Mihalik of the United States and Jonas Gunnarsson of Sweden.

Canada West meets Belarus in the other quarter-final tonight at 7. The winner of that game meets Canada East in the second semifinal Friday at 7 p.m.
