TORONTO -
A group of medical workers from a Canadian aid organization arrived back from Haiti at Toronto's Pearson Airport early today.
Members of Humanity First were greeted with hugs and handshakes by a group of well wishers at the airport.
Fourteen of the aid group's doctors are still in Port-au-Prince, and 21 of its doctors, paramedics and other workers left for Haiti on Saturday.
The group says they will continue providing medical aid and distributing relief supplies to earthquake victims.
Dr. Aslam Daud, chairman of the aid group, told CP24 there was no electricity, food, water, shower facilities or washrooms in Haiti.
He says in a statement that doctors from Humanity First treated hundreds of patients in the past few days.
Another member of the group, Furqan Haider, says it was very sad to see the situation in Haiti, adding at night, there's no light and people are sleeping on the roads.
Humanity First plans to hold a fundraising event for Haiti's earthquake victims Feb. 4 in Toronto.
