O'Leary -

D.P. Murphy Inc. president Danny Murphy leads a group of walkers out of the Tim Hortons' O'Leary Corner parking lot promptly at 7:30 a.m. Monday and heads down Highway 2 towards Montague.

And so began Murphy's five-day, O'Leary to Montague, walk in aid of Island hospitals.

His company will match donations received along the way, up to $100,000.

Murphy's company, which owns 19 Tim Hortons restaurants, nine Wendy's restaurants as well as hotels and other interests, is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year.

Representatives of local hospital foundations and auxiliaries, staff members and area politicians accompanied the Island businessman for the first leg of his anniversary walk.

Go Danny Go! Everyone come out and support! There are donation jars at Tim Hortons and buckets set up in the Wendy's drive-thrus! These are our hospitals, people and EVERY penny counts!
