The staff and membership of O’Leary Farmers Co-op have worked hard to support a fundraising effort of the Canadian Juvenille Diabetes Association.

Dana Ballum, customer service supervisor at O’Leary Farmers Co-op, (from left) presented the cheque from the C-op fundraiser to Koby Hardy, receiving the cheque on behalf of CJD. On hand for the cheque presentation were Cheryl Dorion, cashier at O’Leary Co-op, Glenda Hutchinson, front-end manager at O’Leary Co-op, Cheryl Newcombe, CJD P.E.I. representative, and Stacey Hardy, CJD P.E.I. representative and Koby’s mother.

Through the sale of paper shoes in the “Walk a Day in Our Shoes Campaign” $780 was raised.

This represented about 20 per cent of the total funds raised Islandwide in the first Canadian Juevenille Diabetes Association Walk held in October. Aboiut $10,000 was raised from that event.
