CHARLOTTETOWN – Island business owners and leaders interested in learning about the value and bottomline benefits of offering services in both official languages are invited to attend the “Bilingual Business Advantage” Seminar. This gathering will be held Wednesday, March 7, from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Atlantic Technology Centre (first floor) at 90 University Ave. in Charlottetown. Admission is free and lunch will be provided.

Canadian Parents for French PEI and RDÉE Prince Edward Island Inc. have joined forces to organize this seminar to encourage more PEI businesses to offer services in both French and English.

“Participants at our seminar will be able to hear from a panel of guests – all Island business people who already offer services in both languages – who will be able to provide on-the-spot advice and assistance,” explains Gail Lecky, CPF’s executive director.  “We believe the seminar will be of great value to the participating businesses and ultimately help them to grow their business.”

“We will also collect information that will be used to perform a gap analysis to further assist Island business owners in attracting, hiring, evaluating and retaining bilingual employees,” adds Gary Doucette, the RDÉE’s executive director. “As well, we’ll provide presentations on services that already exist to help entrepreneurs make their businesses more bilingual.”

Please note the sessions will be held in English only. All those interested in participating must register with Gail Lecky at 368-3703 by Feb. 24. Registration is limited.

Those requiring more information may call Lecky at her number or Gary Doucette at 368-7333.

"the sessions will be held in English only"...lol. That says it all about so-called bilingualism in this country. With 90% of PEI being monolingual English, why on earth so much effort on French? All Acadians speak English, too.

You've done it now. Stating that the seminar is in English only will have every french activist between here and Quebec yelling discrimination.
