After truck rolls onto its side in Crapaud

CRAPAUD - A 58-year-old oil truck driver was taken to hospital with minor injuries after a single vehicle collision in Crapaud Tuesday morning.

The incident occurred around 8:30 p.m. on Route 1.

The home delivery oil truck rolled onto its side after striking a snow embankment at a low rate of speed. The oil truck was empty at the time.

Crapaud fire department and the Department of Transportation assisted East Prince RCMP with traffic control at the scene.

The driver, from Borden-Carleton was taken to hospital by Island EMS.

The truck, which sustained minor damage, was removed from the scene.

The provincial Department of Environment attended as a precautionary measure but no fuel spill was observed.
