For user safety, the Confederation Bridge has restricted certain classes of vehicles from crossing until the current high winds situation changes.

Restricted classes include automobiles towing trailers, motorcycles, high-sided vehicles including trucks, tractor trailers recreational vehicles and buses.

Bridge restrictions were put in place at 12:12 p.m. Wednesday.

A wind warning advisory had been issued Tuesday that winds were forecast to reach 60-80 km/h with gusts to 100 km/h on the bridge today.

Those high winds are expected to last until 3 a.m. Thursday.
