Rain, which was at times heavy, turned the festival grounds into a giant mud pit in front of the stage but the weather and messy conditions didn't stop a large crowd from attending the final day of the Cavendish Beach Music Festival to see Lady Antebellum Sunday.

The final numbers aren't in for the festival but organizers estimated approximately 35,000 people were on hand to see Taylor Swift on Saturday with tens of thousands attending every night to see artists like Keith Urban, Lady Antebellum and Little Big Town throughout the five-day event.

Organizers expected to see almost 100,000 people walk through the gates during the festival and the final numbers may show the estimates were not far off.

Mark Ferguson came from Halifax to attend the festival for the second year and took in three nights of performances, including Keith Urban on Thursday, and said the whole event just had a special feel to it and he was happy to be a part of it.

"We just love the whole atmosphere. They brought in some pretty good acts and Keith Urban was awesome," Ferguson said.

The rainy weather wasn't going to stop him from seeing the festival's final show, which included Lady Antebellum, Ferguson said.
